DS Lite Case, Top LCD Screen & Hinge

The DS Lite hinge is housed in the left hand side corner of the case and allows the top screen to stay open at a convenient angle. The DS axis is housed in the right hand side corner of the case. The top LCD screen ribbon cable, antenna wire, and microphone wire run through the axis and left hand side corner of the case. Both the hinge and axis are required for the DS's hinge to function properly. When either hinge is damaged it the delicate top screen ribbon cable is vulnerable and easily damaged.
 
It is common for the left hand side corner of the case to be broken, causing the hinge to be lost, and the top screen ribbon cable to become damaged. If your DS has sustained damage to either of the hinges and will no longer turn on then you should purchase this repair bundle.

If your DS has sustained damage to either of the hinges but still turns on, then you should purchase the DS Case & Hinge repair bundle instead, as you have not damaged the top screen ribbon cable yet. But if you continue to use your DS with a damaged case and hinge, you will eventually damage the ribbon cable that runs through the right hand side hinge, and you will then need a new top LCD screen also.
