DS's have 3 screens, a Top LCD, a Bottom LCD, and a Touch Screen. The LCD (Liquid Crytsal Display) screens are responsible for displaying the pictures. The touch screen sits over the bottom LCD screen (see image) and infers the touch sensitivity to the bottom display. Screens are the most commonly damaged component of DS's, but with a little help from NintendoParts.com.au, they can be easily repaired.

- If the bottom image is displayed correctly, but the display is scratched or cracked, or touch sensitivity isn't working, then you need a new touch screen.
- If the bottom image isn't displayed properly but there doesn't seem to be any visible damage to the overlying touch screen then you need a new bottom LCD.
- If the bottom image isn't displayed properly & there is visible damage to the overlying touch screen then you need a new bottom LCD & touch screen.
